Starke County Community Foundation Accepting Nominations for Philanthropy Award

Nominations are now being taken for a new award honoring philanthropists and charitable organizations making an impact in Starke County.

The 2015 James R. Hardesty Leadership in Philanthropy Awards from the Starke County Community Foundation are named for the largest single contributor in any of the three counties served by the Northern Indiana Community Foundation. Hardesty passed away in May of last year at the age of 92.

The Starke County Community Foundation says the award will alternate between honoring individual philanthropists and organizations. For individuals, the foundation’s looking for someone who’s shown exceptional generosity through direct financial support for a least a year, and who’s inspired others to become philanthropic leaders in the community. Organizations will be judged on their mission, impact, and success.

To nominate a philanthropist or organization or for more information, visit the Community Foundation’s website. The deadline for nominations is October 9.
