Offices to Close for Labor Day

Monday is a holiday, and that means federal, state, and local government offices will be closed. That also means mail won’t be delivered.

The Bureau of Motor Vehicles will be closed Saturday as well as Monday.

And if you happen to win the lottery, you might have to wait to collect your winnings. Hoosier Lottery prize payment offices in Mishawaka, Indianapolis, and Evansville will be closed Monday. But prizes less than $600 may still be collected at most Hoosier Lottery retailers, tickets may still be purchased, and lottery drawings will occur at their usual times.

Many local businesses will also be closed, so you might want to call first if you’re not sure if a business will be open.
