The Pleasant View Rest Home could soon be going up for auction.

According to the Pulaski County Commissioners, the site – which ceased operations as a senior living environment this year – is now moving forward with a realtor. The County Home, as it’s referred to, was closed for budgetary reasons and other reasons related to the cost of making repairs.

The Pleasant View Rest Home put items from inside the structure for auction this summer, selling some of the items.

The Pulaski County Commissioners also had the building appraised in July of this year. It was noted during that time that the appraiser had previous experience with farms and school buildings being planned for sale.

The property was estimated to contain a value of about $70-thousand.

Following the appraisal, commissioners agreed that the home should be put up for sale in a historical magazine.

Further developments have been made since that time. According to Commissioner Terry Young, the County Home could be put up for auction in the fall.

No official date has been set for the sale.
