August Deadline Brings Additional Candidate Filings

Several candidates met the Monday deadline to file paperwork for office in Starke County.

Communities hosting Town Conventions – which includes Hamlet and North Judson had a state deadline of August 3rd. Parties with more than one candidate for office will now decide which candidate represents the party heading into November’s General Election.

In the Town of North Judson, the Ward Two Town Council seat has had a couple of candidates file for office. Democratic candidate Joan Haugh and Independent Jesiah Clemons will be vying for the seat. Nathan Bradley is seeking the Ward 3 seat as a Republican.

Without candidates from the same party running for the same seat, candidates filing the proper paperwork will simply square-off in November’s General Election.

In Hamlet, no new candidates filed to run for office on Monday.
