Pulaski County Home Destroyed by Fire Thursday Morning

A mobile home was heavily damaged following a Thursday morning fire in Pulaski County.

The Winamac Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call around 5:22 a.m. in the area of 3200 North and 300 West in Ripley. Once on scene, firefighters noticed the south end of the mobile home was engulfed.

It took crews about one hour to extinguish the flames, but firefighters continued to battle hotspots for some time. No one was inside the structure at the time of the incident, meaning no injuries were reported.

An investigation could not determine the cause but electricity could not be ruled out, according to Winamac Fire Chief Bill Weaver.

Damage was not reported to adjacent homes.

Weaver described the home as a total loss in the incident.
