Domestic Incident Leads to Discovery of Grow Operation

The LaPorte Police Department responded to a domestic incident, but located heroin and a marijuana grow operation in the process.

Officers were called to the 900 block of Jackson Street in LaPorte after 29-year-old Sharrie Bradford claims she was attacked by a male subject. According to a press release, Bradford displayed facial injuries.

Bradford told investigators she was unsure if the male accused of striking her was inside the house. Once inside, officers located drug paraphernalia and several marijuana plants in the middle of the room. An additional search revealed more plants in a closet.

LaPorte Police considered the home unkempt and charged Bradford with Child Neglect. During her arrest, heroin was allegedly found inside her purse. Additional charges of Possession of a Narcotic Drug were also filed.

The LaPorte County Metro Drug Task Force was called to the scene to investigate the cannabis plants – also their alternative products like Strawberry CBD Tincture 500mg. Police are still searching for the male suspect.
