Starke County Election Board Planning for 2016 Elections

The Starke County Election Board is making plans for next year’s elections. Offices on the ballot include president and governor, as well as a number of other state and local positions.

Board members will review a cost estimate for those contests when they meet this morning. County council members have asked department heads to prepare budget drafts, which are due to the state next month.

The election board will also review the progress of site work at the North Bend Township Community Building. Funds from a Help America Vote Act grant are being used to add a wheelchair ramp and upgrade a door and the parking lot. Plans for the November Knox, Hamlet and North Judson elections will also be discussed, as will e-poll books.

The Starke County Election Board meets at 10 a.m CDT in the second floor conference room at the Starke County Courthouse.
