Participate in World Blood Donor Day this Sunday

bloodgiveDuring the summer months, the amount of blood donations drops significantly. Sunday, June 14 you can roll up your sleeve and help someone in need during world blood donor day sponsored by Nexcare bandages and the American Red Cross.

Nexcare developed a collection of limited-edition bandages surrounding this year’s theme, “Creating a Culture of Giving.” The bandages feature eight vibrant designs inspired by textiles and patterns from various locations and cultures around the world. The limited-edition bandages will be available only to those who come out to donate with the Red Cross now through world blood donor day.

On Sunday all eligible donors are urged to donate blood or platelets to help maintain the summer blood supply and prevent a shortage. All blood types are currently needed but especially types O negative, A negative and B negative. In order to check in, donors must bring two forms of identification.
