The Winamac man accused of fatally stabbing his wife at their home Sunday night is out of the hospital and in jail. Officials in Pulaski County say Michael Kasten Sr., 59, was booked into the Pulaski County Jail at 4:45 p.m. yesterday.

He’s charged with murder in connection with his wife, Tina’s, death. Investigators say he also stabbed himself and was airlifted to Fort Wayne from Pulaski Memorial Hospital late Sunday night. A witness says the couple had been drinking and arguing prior to the stabbing, and family members describe their relationship as stormy. Kasten has yet to make his initial court appearance.
