An Ober man faces two felony charges after allegedly holding his girlfriend against her will at a Washington Township home.

Deputies from the Starke County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence there just after 12 p.m. today after getting a call saying a woman was being held against her will. Chief Deputy Kenny Pfost found the woman on the front porch, according to a news release. Shawn Heck, 28, was inside the home when officers arrived. The woman was bruised, according to Pfost. She reportedly told officers Heck beat her the night before, threatened her with a baseball bat and told her he would burn her parents’ house down if she tried to leave. Heck was arrested without incident on preliminary charges of criminal confinement, intimidation with a deadly weapon and domestic battery.
