Fiery Pickup Truck Versus Motorcycle Crash Claims Two Lives

 
 

A pickup truck versus motorcycle crash west of North Judson last night claimed two lives. It happened around 8:30 p.m. on State Road 10 at 700 West, according to dispatchers from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department.

When the first officers arrived, they found two people on the ground and the pickup truck in flames. EMS personnel determined both of the people who were ejected were dead. It’s not clear if they were both on the motorcycle at the time of the crash. The truck driver was walking around, according to a news release. He was examined by Starke County EMS but refused further treatment. Sheriff’s deputies took him to IU Health Starke Hospital for a blood draw, results of which are pending. He’s jailed on two preliminary counts of reckless homicide. The names of all involved parties have not been released pending family notification. The crash remains under investigation.
