Indiana’s 2nd District Congresswoman says she will be seeking re-election.

Jackie Walorski announced on Wednesday that she has raised over $250-thousand in the first fundraising quarter of the year, increasing her war chest to more than $450-thousand.

The second congressional district includes portions of St. Joseph, Elkhart, Starke, Marshall, Pulaski, and Fulton counties. In her announcement, the Republican described her experience serving in Congress as an honor.

Walorski’s announcement helps settle speculation about Indiana’s soon-to-be-open Senate seat. Senator Dan Coats announced earlier this year he will not seek re-election. By running again in the Second District, Walorski may have removed her name from a list of possible candidates to replace Coats.

The Congresswoman was re-elected in November to a second term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Walorski has been working on SNAP reform during her time in office. She has also been a strong advocate for limiting the powers of the Environmental Protection Agency.
