Bids for Knox Sidewalk Program to be Awarded May 8

Seven applications for the 50/50 sidewalk replacement program have been reviewed by Knox Street Superintendent Jeff Borg.

Borg told the Knox Board of Public Works last week that he has invited contractors to bid on the projects. He has taken one contractor around to all of the proposed sites. The bids will be awarded in a special meeting on Friday, May 8.

Borg added that they’re about a month behind on the paving schedule. He submitted a paving list to the Knox City Council recently and they took the list under advisement. The paving of Lake Street from Prettyman to McGill Streets is being proposed along with Olsen Drive from the old overlay south to Washington Street, East Street from Water Street to the railroad tracks, Potter Street from U.S. 35 to Main Street, and Myrtle Court.
