LaPorte Man Sentenced In Federal Court For Grow Operation

A LaPorte man has been sentenced in federal court.

42-year-old Adrian Williams was sentenced this week on charges stemming from an incident occurring in 2013. Law enforcement responded in September of that year to a building Williams owned in LaPorte County.

Once inside the building, officers allegedly located a marijuana grow operation inside of the structure. The Drug Enforcement Agency conducted an investigation prior to authorities responding to the address.

The number of cannabis plants and the quantity of marijuana located was not disclosed in the information released by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in South Bend.

Williams had previously pleaded guilty to a felony offense of manufacturing marijuana.

He was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment with two years of supervised release.
