Marshall County Prosecutor Nelson Chipman filed felony charges against Rigoberto Calix Reyes, 21, that include sexual misconduct with a minor and forgery, as well as a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. Bail is set at $100,000 cash.
It is alleged that Reyes had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl from Plymouth and he aided the girl in running away from home. Court documents state that Reyes also altered a birth certificate from the Republic of Honduras to reflect a different year of his birth.
Alyssa Tapia was reported missing on March 9 to the Plymouth Police Department. Her whereabouts were made known to police and she and Reyes were both located in Harris County, Texas. Both are awaiting extradition to Marshall County. Reyes is to have no contact with Tapia until further notice from the court.
These charges are only mere allegations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
