Sheriff Bill Dulin stresses this is not an offer for the sheriff’s department to participate in or be part of any business transaction but is a public service aimed at keeping citizens safe. He asks that you notify the on-duty communications staff at the jail when you arrive so they can ensure the exchange of property or children goes smoothly.
A Georgia couple was killed in an apparent robbery when they traveled to meet a man who responded to their Craigslist add seeking to buy a 1966 Ford Mustang. Authorities say he did not have such a car for sale. Since their bodies were found last week sheriff’s departments across the country have offered their lobbies as safe havens for property exchanges.
