Local Bank Donates Funds For Lifelong Learning

  
 

Several thousand dollars has been donated to an initiative that promotes learning in the area.

1st Source Bank presented the donation of $10-thousand to the Starke County Initiative for Lifelong Learning. The group’s goal is to promote workforce development by partnering education with local industry.

The funds will be used for a program involving automation, robotics, and equipment maintenance. That program will start during the 2015-2016 school year and will be targeted toward students who are juniors and seniors in the North Central Area Vocational Cooperative.

The program is expected to last for two years.

1st Source bank said they are a strong supporter of the initiative’s efforts. Part of the donation’s intent is to help bring greater skills to the Starke County workforce.
