Local Official Attends Economic Development Course

  
 

City officials, Ball State students, chamber of commerce, and economic development representatives from across the state of Indiana recently attended the Indiana Economic Development course at Ball State University which focused on the theory and practice of economic development.

This week-long, 40-hour course, accredited by the International Economic Council, offered training in the basic concepts, methods and strategies of economic industrial, business and community development. Knox Mayor Rick Chambers attended the function along with over 80 individuals and accumulated continuing education units.

The information learned can be adapted to what the economic needs are for the City of Knox to help coordinate business, industry to assist the Starke County Economic Development Foundation.
