Rep. Gutwein Reappointed to House Employment, Labor and Pensions Chair

GutweinState Rep. Doug Gutwein, R-Francesville, has been reappointed chair of the House Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee for the next two years. This is the committee that dealt with the workers compensation law that passed in 2012.

Gutwein was also named to the House Agriculture and Rural Development and Veterans and Public Safety Committees. “I am honored to have been appointed to serve on these committees, especially as chairman of Employment, Labor and Pensions,” Gutwein said in a statement. “Growing the economy and lowering the unemployment rate continue to be my top priorities, but I also look forward to strengthening Indiana in other areas to support veterans, students, teachers and Hoosiers alike.”

Gutwein’s district includes all of Pulaski and portions of Starke, Fulton, Jasper and Newton Counties. The 2015 legislative session begins on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 1:30 p.m. EST.
