Winter Wonderland Event in Winamac Scheduled for Dec. 6

The Winter Wonderland event is set for Saturday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. ET in downtown Winamac.

Angie Anspach from the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce said some annual features have moved this year.

“We’ve got craft and business booths. They will be at the Pulaski County Human Services building this year. That’s a new location for us. There will also be a few in the chamber office/Refined store. There will also be some in the fire station. Most of the ones in the fire station will be the food vendors,” said Anspach.

Anpach added that businesses will be offering specials for shoppers. The train depot will be open for Winter Wonderland guests to see the model trains. The Iris-Elm Christmas Arrangements Show will also be in the depot.

The entertainment will be in the Vurpillat Opera House.

“There will be a lot of different people performing: groups, individuals and there will be some square dancers. We’ll also have a magician and face painting. Judge Michael Shurn will have cookies and cocoa for anyone who comes in that day.”

A toy drive is scheduled and the boy scouts will have a coat drive on the courthouse grounds. Don’t miss the parade down Market Street that begins at 12:30 p.m. ET on Dec. 6.

To kick off the Winter Wonderland event, residents are welcome to decorate the live Christmas tree on the courthouse lawn on Friday, Dec. 5. Holiday home tours will immediately follow this event. Tickets are $7 each.
