No Decision on Balanced Calendar from Culver Community School Board

Culver Community School CorporationThe Culver Community School Board met after the public forum held to weigh the pros and cons of the balanced calendar. The board isn’t ready to vote but is still considering the change in schedules. Culver Community School Superintendent Dr. Vicki McGuire said until other schools in the area have decided, no decision will be made until that point.

A balanced calendar still provides the state-mandated 180 days of classroom instruction. School would start about a week or a week-and-a-half earlier than it does now and end at the beginning of June. The schedule would also feature two-week breaks for remediation and vacation in the fall and spring.
