Incidents:

9/30/14 – A resident in the 9300 block of East 200 South in Knox reported vandalism to his daughter’s car tires.

9/30/14 – A man reported the theft of medication from his vehicle parked at Bass Lake Pub and Ristorante and advised the restaurant owner has the theft on video and a witness saw it occur.

9/30/14 – A resident in the 1900 block of North 410 East in Knox reported problems with a neighbor.

9/30/14 – A motorist called the Starke County Sheriff’s Department to file a property damage accident report after hitting a boulder at State Road 8 and Range Road.

9/30/14 – A resident in the 2900 block of South Hilltop Drive in Knox reported being harassed by neighbors.

10/1/14 – A property damage accident involving a vehicle in a ditch was reported in the 8800 block of South Main Street in Ora.

10/1/14 – A resident in the 10900 block of East 875 North in Koontz Lake reported an ongoing problem with neighbors playing loud music late at night and early in the morning.

10/1/14 – A NIPSCO employee advised his work truck was pulled off to the side of the road in the 8600 block of East 200 South and was sideswiped by a green or blue pickup truck that continued westbound on 200 South.

10/1/14 – A female advised she was riding her moped on 700 South at 250 West in North Judson and was hit by a white Ford Ranger that continued eastbound on 700 South.

10/1/14 – A resident in the 3800 block of South State Road 39 reported her neighbors are shooting off a loud gun.

10/2/14 – Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a property damage accident on State Road 8 east of State Road 39.

10/2/14 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Department, Starke County EMS and Knox-Center Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to a truck versus semi accident on U.S. 35 north of State Road 8 in Knox.

10/2/14 – A man reported his vehicle was struck by a black Pontiac at the intersection of State Road 8 and 700 East in Knox. The car left southbound on 700 East.

10/3/14 – A San Pierre man reported the theft of an irrigation pipe from the 9400 block of West 500 South.

10/3/14 – A resident in the 8700 block of east 75 North in Knox reported the theft of tree stands from her property.

10/3/14 – A resident in the 10700 block of east 50 North in Knox reported hearing an argument at a nearby residence and shots being fired.

10/3/14 – A resident in the 5300 block of south 250 East in Knox reported hearing gunshots coming from her neighbor’s residence to the south.

10/4/14 – A resident in the 1000 block of west 700 South reported her shed was broken into last night.

10/5/14 – A Starke County Sheriff’s Deputy took a report of a vehicle versus deer crash on Toto Road east of Range Road.

10/5/14 – Multiple agencies responded to a report of a vehicle versus pole crash in the 1000 block of west 200 South in North Judson. No injuries were reported.

10/5/14 – A resident in the 11200 block of east Division Road in Knox reported his house was broken into while he was gone.

Arrests:

10/2/14 – Jerry L. Bradley, 54, Knox – Operating a vehicle while intoxicated Class A Misdemeanor and operating a vehicle while intoxicated Class C misdemeanor.

9/30/14 – Winamac Police respond to a report of a garage break-in and take a report of stolen motorcycle parts, a tackle box and other items.

10/2/14 – Pulaski County Sheriff’s Deputies respond to a report of a stolen rented pickup truck.

10/2/14 – Pulaski County Sheriff’s Deputies respond to a report of shots fired at a house.

Incidents:

10/08/14 A resident in the Wintersong Village Nursing Home reported the theft of money.

10/08/14 Police responded to a call in reference of a minor in possession of alcohol. The case remains under investigation.

10/07/14 A resident in the 600 block of S. Main Street reported damage to her privacy fence.

10/03/14 Officers responded to a verbal dispute on John Street.

10/02/14 A resident told police that two tires on his vehicle were slashed.

Arrests:

10/05/14 Brian Hall, 39, of 204 W. Locust Dr., Knox, IN, arrested on a warrant through Knox City Court.

10/03/14 John Brewer, 59, 6450 Hagen, North Judson, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of disorderly conduct and intimidation.

10/02/14 Crystal Singleton, 29, 7821 E. 25 N., Knox, IN, arrested on a Marshall County warrant. She was transported to the Marshall County Jail by an Indiana State Police trooper.

10/04/14 A minor property damage accident occurred in the Family Express parking lot. North Judson Officer Nick Vanni set the damages at near $1000. Chief Doug Vessely wants to remind all drivers that several of the accidents our department investigates take place in a parking lot. “Please use extra care vehicle moving in a parking lot, watch for the other guy, especially when pulling into or backing out of a parking space,” he said.

10/04/14 Police received a complaint of yelling coming from the area of Garden Street and Wilson Street. The subjects were either quiet or gone when the North Judson Police arrived.

10/03/14 A landlord reported someone had entered a empty home in the 400 block of High Stree, and moved some items. He requested extra patrols and that anyone trespassing be arrested. Nothing was missing or damaged.

10/03/14 A woman in the 400 Block of Keller Avenue reported to police that a neighbor allegedly came onto her property and battered her. No injuries were sustained, however battery charges are being requested through the Starke County Prosecutors Office.

10/03/14 A vehicle pulling out of the CVS parking lot sustained a front tie rod break which disrupted traffic for a short period. Police controlled the incident and called for a wrecker service.

10/03/14 A caller reported a possible drunk driver heading west on State Road 10 from U.S. 35. The vehicle was never located.

10/02/14 An animal complaint was received by police involving several newborn kittens. The matter was resolved.

10/02/14 Police received a request for a welfare check at the Oakview Motel. Police did the check and everything was fine.

10/01/14 Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the 300 Block of George Street.

10/01/14 Officers took a report of a property damage accident near Lane Street and Main Street. Chief Deputy Joe Budner set damages at under $1,000.

10/01/14 Officer Frank Thomas participated in a short pursuit after trying to conduct a traffic stop on 625 South. The suspect vehicle pulled into a driveway near 300 West and both the driver and passenger fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, officer Thomas captured the passenger, Brandon Minix. Thomas conducted an interview and investigation and arrested Minix on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement and possession of a controlled substance.

09/30/14 Police responded to a domestic complaint in the 300 block of George Street.

09/29/14 A woman reported that her wallet was taken from the front seat of her unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of Family Express. North Judson Police are investigating.

09/29/14 Employees from the First Farmers Bank and Trust reported to police that a former customer was writing large dollar amount checks to car dealers outside of the Starke County area. The local authorities are covering each area.

Arrests:

10/01/14 Brandon Minix , 32, of 5545 S. 750 East, Knox, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement and possession of a controlled substance.

09/28/14 Max Stills, 25, Bradyville, TN, arrested on a felony Starke County Bench Warrant.
