First Snow of the Season Possible Today

Trick-or-treaters could be trudging through the snow this evening to collect candy. The WKVI AccuWeather.com forecast calls for rain and snow showers this afternoon, with snow continuing into the overnight hours. Today’s high temperatures are only expected to hit the low 40s. Overnight we’ll dip into the mid-20s.

We’re expecting a coating to an inch of snow total. Don’t look for it to stick around very long, though. Temperatures will be back into the upper 40s by Sunday and will break through the 50s again early next week.

A wind advisory is also in effect until 8 p.m. Eastern, 7 p.m. Central this evening. Northwest winds of 20 to 35 miles per hour are likely, with gusts of up to 45 miles per hour possible. This could make driving difficult, especially in taller vehicles like vans and SUV’s. Small branches may also be brought down.
