Bids submitted Monday for the construction of a new Hamlet-Davis Township fire department building were described by the Pyramid Architecture/Engineering and Construction representative as
“a lot better” than the previously submitted bids.
Fifteen companies submitted bids in nineteen proposals for 10 of the 12 trade packages. One bidder’s proposal was rejected as incomplete. The accepted bids will be reviewed by Pyramid.
Its recommendation will be presented at the next meeting of the board.
The project is a 8,100 sq-ft building on Indiana Avenue, just east of the Starke County Fairgrounds
in Hamlet. It will be a wood framed system with metal roofing, metal siding, and slab-on-grade.
