Pulaski County EMS Director Seeks Help in Retaining Staff

Pulaski County EMS Director Nikki Lowry asked the commissioners Monday night for help in retaining staff in her department.

She stated that there is a short turnaround of staff and believes that Pulaski County EMS needs to be more competitive when it comes to pay and work available.

Lowry also suggested offering incentives such as continuing education.

Commission President Larry Brady said the commissioners will research the situation and they will discuss the issue in the future setting.

Lowry also requested the capability of allowing debit card use for payment of services. She mentioned that many residents want to pay their bills with a debit card and that option is not available. Lowry was told she could look into the possibility to get a machine that would accept debit cards. The recorder’s office currently has a debit card to accept payments in that manner.
