Oregon-Davis School Board Praises School Resource Officers

Oregon-Davis-Jr_Sr-BuildingOregon-Davis School Superintendent Greg Briles praised the newly installed school resource officers for their efforts in school safety.

Briles told the school board members this week that Hamlet Town Marshal Frank Lonigro and Patrolman Kyle Hinds have been working to create plans in case of an emergency.

“They’ve been working with the Lowell District with the Indiana State Police and the county EMA department. Those two have been doing a lot of work around our corporation. If you look at the outside of all of our windows, they all have the room numbers on the outside of them. They have the numbers on our doors again – they’ve just taken it to another level as far as getting everything back up to date prior to our construction,” commented Briles.

The pair were hired last year after the school was awarded funds to hire school resource officers through an Indiana Secured School Safety grant.
