Kewanna, Wanatah Fall Festivals Continue Today

 
 

The Kankakee Valley area has two fall festivals continuing today. The annual Kewanna Fall Festival and the Wanatah Scarecrow Festival both have full schedules of events. Both will start the day off with breakfast and continue their activities throughout the day.

The Kewanna Fall Festival will have a mush ball tournament beginning at 8 a.m. EDT. The 6th annual bench press classic and an antique tractor show will begin at 9. A free circus, lumber jack show, a performance by the Tippecanoe Twirlers and Dukestar Frisbee Dog Team all take place before the parade at 1 p.m. After the parade cash prizes, karaoke, a 5k run/walk, an auction and live pro wrestling finish off the day. Tomorrow will start with breakfast at 7. The mush ball championship games start at 9 then rides begin at 11. A tractor pull and a performance by Twin River Squares are in the afternoon to cap off the weekend. The 20th Annual Wanatah Scarecrow Festival will also have a 5K run and 3K walk at 8 a.m. CDT followed by the Scarecrow Scamper Kid’s Fun Run at 9:30. The parade will roll through downtown at 11. Bingo, horse-drawn carriage rides, a fish fry and karaoke are all activities in the evening. Tomorrow starts off at 8 a.m. with the pancake breakfast, a car show and a 3 on 3 basketball tournament.
