John Glenn’s Falloween Fest Is Back

The Falloween Fest returns to Walkerton this weekend. The 6th annual festival will feature John Glenn High School’s organizations, clubs, community groups from surrounding towns, civic groups and churches for this major fund-raising event. Over $94,000 has been raised for student scholarships since the Falloween Fest’s inception in 2009. A fish fry will start the day’s activities along with carnival rides at 4 p.m. The grand parade will run through the streets of Walkerton at 5:30 p.m. prior to the football game at 7:30 p.m. which will feature John Glenn and Triton. You can hear the broadcast live on sportstothemax.net with Tony Ross and company. WKVI’s Harold Welter spoke with John Glenn’s head football coach Dave Sharpe about the festival.

{9-19-14-Sharpe 1} Q…you won’t believe it until you see it. :13
[You’re going to see a lot of rides, a lot of things that you would see at a fair or carnival and all the money goes to John Glenn seniors. We give them thousands and thousands of dollars in scholarships. It’s an unbelievable event. If you’ve never been to Falloween at John Glenn you have to see it because you won’t believe it until you see it.]

Saturday’s events include a 5K run/walk, a petting zoo, Anaya Jolie performing at 1, corn hole tournaments, Twin Gauge performing at 4:30, a talent show and fireworks will cap off the day at 9:15 p.m.

Sunday will be the last day for the festival. The pancake breakfast will begin the day, and John Glenn’s show choir performs at noon. Just For Fun performs at 3:30 p.m. with the raffle drawing concluding the festival. Find a complete schedule of events at http://www.falloweenfest.com/ .
