Firefighters Battle Overnight Residential Blaze

Firefighters from the Washington Township and Knox-Center Township Volunteer Fire Departments spent four hours battling a structure fire at a rural residence Wednesday night. They responded to the home at 1120 S. 1025 E. between 10:30 and 11 p.m.

Washington Township Fire Department Captain Joe Short tells WKVI news the house and garage were fully engulfed when the firefighters arrived. Nobody was home at the time, and no injuries were reported. An investigator from the state fire marshal’s office was unable to determine a cause of the fire due to the extensive damage.
