Plymouth Officials Hit Pause on Tennis Court Project

Plymouth LogoRepresentatives from the Plymouth Tennis Club and City of Plymouth are pausing in their plan to develop new tennis courts at Centennial Park. They issued a joint statement saying “this pause will allow the organizations to better address remaining questions before moving forward.”

Supporters of the Marshall County Blueberry Festival have recently questioned what the relocation of the tennis courts within the park would mean for the popular Labor Day weekend event. They’ve also discussed moving the festival elsewhere in Marshall County. It’s been held in Plymouth since 1966.

The Plymouth Tennis Club’s Project Committee has raised more than $223,900 to build new tennis courts. The Plymouth Park Board has also approved comprehensive design plans. Their planning, fundraising and communication efforts will continue during this break. More information about the project is available at www.plymouthtenniscourts.com.
