Motorist and Pedestrian Injured in Saturday Night Crash

An Indianapolis woman was flown to a South Bend hospital for treatment after she was hit by a car on a highway in Marshall County Saturday night.

Authorities there say Jessica Langford, 32, of Louisville, was southbound on U.S. 31 south of 4A Road in the construction zone around 10:30 p.m. when Jennifer Kosinksi, 35, of Indianapolis, stepped in front of her 2003 Ford Taurus. The police report indicates Langford could not avoid the collision. Kosinksi was conscious and alert when emergency personnel arrived. Authorities believe she had been drinking prior to the accident, according to the police report. Langford sustained minor facial injuries.
