Knox Water Department Lifts Boil Water Order

HydrantKnox residents in the East Lake and John Street areas no longer have to boil water. A second round of lab tests found no problems with water quality after the city changed three fire hydrants in that area earlier this week.

Knox Water Superintendent Todd Gardner tells WKVI News the city will be flushing those hydrants today. He adds it is now safe to drink and cook with the water. The city opted to replace all three of the 100-year-old hydrants at once in order to minimize inconvenience.
