Angry Woman Arrested for Disorderly Conduct

A LaPorte woman who became upset when a police officer there told her she could not report the vehicle she co-owns with her boyfriend stolen just because he is in jail ended up behind bars herself early Sunday morning.

Angel M. Clemans, 24, told the officer she wanted to report the car stolen because her boyfriend had the keys and was in the LaPorte County Jail. The incident report indicates she and her boyfriend are both registered owners of the car. The officer told Clemans he couldn’t take a report since one of the owners was the suspect. According to the officer, she became irate and yelled obscenities at him. She was issued a disorderly conduct warning but continued to verbally berate the officer. That’s when she was arrested on a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge.
