A Winamac woman faces a charge of battery on a law enforcement officer. Donna Fay Campbell, 36, is accused of hitting, kicking and throwing a can of Pepsi at Pulaski County Sheriff’s Deputy Michelle Jackson when she responded to a home in the 4400 block of County Road 600 West Wednesday afternoon. The home owner called the sheriff’s department when Campbell showed up at his home on foot and claimed she had been beaten. The arrest report indicates Campbell did not appear to be injured and was part of an Adult Protective Services case. Jackson telephoned Campbell’s guardian, who said she had been in the yard and wandered off. Campbell got upset when she heard Jackson telling a dispatcher that her guardian was on the way. She swore at the deputy, according to the police report, threw a can of Pepsi at her, swung a closed fist and hit her in the chest and kicked her in the shin. Jackson took Campbell to the ground, handcuffed her, helped her into her patrol car and took her to jail without further incident.
