Summer Interns Making a Difference at the SCEDF

Two summer interns have assisted in workforce development efforts at the Starke County Economic Development Foundation (SCEDF).

Rachel Mullens of North Judson and Stefanie McGovern of Winamac are working on Manufacturing Day activities for 2014, the 7th grade manufacturing experience and the annual Prospectus and Achievement event.

Mullens is a 2011 graduate of North Judson-San Pierre High School and is currently majoring in elementary education with the goal of teaching middle school mathematics. She is working with the three school superintendents to present the county’s 7th graders with unique opportunities in the manufacturing market.

McGovern is a 2012 graduate of Winamac High School and is attending Ivy Tech College with hopes of entering the Kelly School of Business at IUPUI to pursue a position in medical sales. She is leading the task of assisting in the foundation’s marketing efforts including social media and planning Manufacturer’s Day activities.
