State Agencies Partner to Produce Active Shooter School Bus Training Videos

School Bus SafetyThe Indiana State Police, Indiana Department of Education, School Transportation Association of Indiana and the Mooresville Consolidated School Corporation recently teamed up to produce two safety videos for school bus drivers. They depict multiple responses to an active shooter situation on a bus full of children. One video shows an armed gunman who forces his way onto the bus. The other is of a student passenger who gets on the bus with a gun. Sgt. Chris Kath with the Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Division says the agency, “is committed to the safety of our children and school bus drivers. If a violent act is encountered on a school bus, a plan and preparation of actions could be the tools needed to survive. Be prepared to take action to keep yourself and our school children safe.”

The Indiana State Police are available to answer any questions school corporations may have or to do a live presentation of the Safe Schools/Unarmed Response to an Active Shooter.
