A recently retired college administrator will serve as the interim president of Ancilla College for the next year. Dr. Kenneth Zirkle retired last fall from Mercyhurst University North East in Pennsylvania, where he served as chief academic officer. He takes over for Dr. Ron May, who retired in June after eight years at Ancilla.
In a statement released by Ancilla, Zirkle called the appointment “the best kind of challenge” and said he will continue to work with the faculty, staff and trustees to move the school forward while the search for a permanent president is ongoing.
Zirkle’s career includes executive experience at the State University of New York , University of Findley (Ohio), Becker College (Massachusetts), Post University (Connecticut) and Mercyhurst University. He studied at Edinboro State College in Pennsylvania, Syracuse, Rutgers, Harvard and Penn State, where he earned his doctorate.
