Junior Achievement Bowl-a-Thon Strikes Tonight

It’s an activity your family, friends or co-workers can enjoy and you’ll be helping a youth organization at the same time. It’s the annual Junior Achievement Bowl-a-Thon.

The Bowl-a-Thon is tonight at 6 p.m. CT at Bowlaway Lanes in Knox and teams are needed to help gather funds for Junior Achievement. Bridget Markin, a Junior Achievement representative, says this fundraiser is a worthwhile program for Starke County students.

“That will help us to reach out to 1,000 students in Starke County to help Junior Achievement carry their message of financial literacy,” said Markin.

Judy Caudill mentioned that there will be plenty of prizes to be given away and a silent auction during the event as well.

“We’ve got a couple of really nice items,” explained Caudill. The Specialty Shoppe here in Knox donated a really nice box set of grilling utensils and Body Reflections donated a gift certificate for a silent auction item. We’re going to have a lot of really nice door prizes. It’ll be a lot of fun”

There is a Hawaiian theme so come dressed for the occasion tonight at Bowlaway Lanes.

If you would like to sign up to be on a team, it’s not too late. For a $25 entry fee, you can register your team with Bridget Markin by calling (574) 806-1799 or call Judy Caudill at First Source Bank at 772-6211. Each team member will also need to raise $60 for a healthy donation toward Junior Achievement.

If you don’t want to bowl but want to participate in the silent auction or watch, stop by the bowling alley and learn more about what Junior Achievement does for the students in Starke County.
