Starke Commissioners Have Full Agenda This Morning

  
 
The Starke County Commissioners have a full agenda for their meeting this morning, but before their meeting begins, the Building Corporation will first hold their meeting to hear a financial report, the status of the water line project, and a construction update from the Skillman Corporation. The Building Corporation meeting begins at 8:30 a.m.

The commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. to first hear the monthly report from the EMS department, followed by a report from the county highway department and a proposed agreement with JPR Bridge Design.

Auditor Kay Chaffins is expected to present a contract with Maximus, and Clerk Evelyn Skronski will appear before the commissioners to discuss the hours of part time election workers, and a commissioner representative for the Help America Vote Act.

Discussion is also expected regarding a public hearing and commissioner tax sale from Treasurer Kasey Clark, and Charles Weaver with the Starke County Economic Development Foundation will discuss CEDIT appropriations.

EMA Director Ted Bombagetti and James Coad, courthouse custodian, will discuss the emergency preparedness plan for the county. Terry Stephenson of the Building Commission is slated to discuss applicability for manufactured housing, and Lisa Minix, recorder, will talk about the renewal of the county’s contract with FIDLAR.

Also expected during the meeting is the latest report from Weaver and Boos regarding landfill monitoring, and follow-ups on auction commission rates, sub-division roads in Chesapeake Run, and the Kone Elevator contract. Finally, the commissioners will talk about the status of creating a county highway construction inspector position.
