North Judson Town Board Approves Purchases for Fire, Street Depts.

The North Judson Town Board held their regular meeting this week and according to Clerk-Treasurer Donna Henry, it was a pretty short meeting with only a few agenda items. Among those, Henry said, was a purchase order for the fire department that requested the purchase of three new handheld radios.

Henry said these new radios would replace three of the older models and allow for better communication. The total cost came to $1681.80 and the board approved the purchase. The board also approved the purchase of 20 tons of cold patch material for the street department for $1900.

Cemetery cleanup will take place the week of April 21, Henry said, and crews will begin cleaning up the cemetery at the point. Anyone with items left on the ground is advised to remove any items they do not wish to lose.

Finally, the Board of Zoning Appeals will meet April 7 in conjunction with the next town board meeting to elect their officers for 2014, Henry said.
