Indiana Excise Officer Cites 109 Speedway Convenience Stores for the Sale of Alcohol

A month-long investigation by an Indiana State Police Excise officer has found that 109 Speedway convenience stores unlawfully sold alcohol on Christmas Day.

The officer began her investigation on Dec. 26 when she received an anonymous tip that a South Bend convenience store sold beer on Christmas Day. Indiana prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages from 7 a.m. on Dec. 25 to 3 a.m. on Dec. 26.

Two convenience stores in LaPorte were cited, as well as two in Michigan City, one on Michigan Street in Plymouth, five in South Bend, one in Valparaiso and one in Wanatah.

The Indiana Excise Police promotes public safety by enforcing Indiana’s Alcoholic Beverage Code.
