Food Finders Mobile Food Pantry Visits New Location in Winamac

The Food Finders Mobile Food Pantry is once again headed to Winamac for their food giveaway day scheduled for Friday, March 7, when the pantry will distribute a variety of food including fresh produce, an assortment of frozen items, essential non-perishable items, and breads to people in need.

This time, the pantry will open at a new location: the Pulaski County Highway Garage, located at 1131 N. U.S. 35 in Winamac. Doors open at 11 a.m. and people are prohibited from arriving before 10:45 a.m. ET. Food is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and is available to those who meet 185 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.

A single-member family must earn less than $21,257 monthly, while a two-member household can earn no more than $28,694. Household income for families of three must be no more than $36,131. For more information on these guidelines, call (765) 471-0062

For the safety of their volunteers, clients and sponsors, Food Finders has enacted several policies focused on safety. Sites will open 15 minutes before service begins; anyone who arrives before the site opens will be asked to leave and return at the appropriate time. Clients must provide their own box or bag to carry food home in, as Food Finders is not able provide carrying containers.

No smoking is allowed within 50 feet of the food distribution, including while waiting in line to receive food. Obscene gestures or language will not be tolerated; fighting or other aggressive behavior will not be tolerated; you may only go through the line and receive food once; and you must leave the site once you receive food.
