Rain Forces Cancellation of Testing at Daytona

DAYTONAPreSeasonThunder14_4CTesting at Daytona was rained out Thursday. Teams will have extra track time tomorrow and hopefully the rain is done.

Here are a few things I learned today:

Tony Stewart told reporters today that he’ll return to the No. 14 in February but doesn’t think he’ll be 100%.

Jeff Gordon indicated that he needs to work on his restarts.

Steve Letarte will be in the NBC booth instead of in Dale Earnhardt, Jr.’s pit box as crew chief in 2015.

Danica Patrick stated that she needs to work with experience; excuses are running out.

Rusty Wallace is excited about being in the No. 2 for testing. He feels that he’ll be able to gain knowledge in the driver’s seat to better help him with discussing racing as an analyst. He’ll get to see how the Gen-6 drives with this year’s changes.

Penske Racing has changed its competition brand to Team Penske.  This includes all teams racing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series, as well as the IndyCar Series.
