The Pulaski County Commissioners this week approved the purchase of five self-dumping hoppers for the recycling center at the request of Ed Clark, recycling center director. He told the commissioners that the purchase could come out of his equipment fund, and the hoppers won’t rust, weigh very little, and would increase their productivity.

Clark said the equipment would come at a cost of around $999 apiece, but the commissioners approved a motion authorizing him to purchase five hoppers, but only after trying to find a lower price.

The commissioners also accepted a bid from DC Garage Doors for $4649.50 to replace the overhead doors at the Fletcher building. The doors are unsafe and need replaced, but the work isn’t cheap. The commissioners approved a motion to accept the bid, the lowest of the four bids received, to be paid out of the building maintenance fund.
