Ben and Dorothy Osinski have been conducting auctions in Northern Indiana for over 30 years. Ben went to auctioneers school and secured his license in 1983. He was soon a part of 50 personal property auctions and six farm machinery consignment auctions per year. Since then, Osinski Auction Service has conducted more than 1,000 auctions.

Ben once sold five Pink Cadillacs in one sale and sold 33 long guns and pistols in another sale and found out they were all loaded upon inspection.

As a milestone in his career, Ben Osinski was recently named to the Indiana Auctioneer’s Hall of Fame. He also originated the Starke County Eagle Plaque Award to honor and inspire local businesses to “soar like an eagle”.

Ben’s wife of 41 years, Dorothy, takes care of office responsibilities and cashiers all sales. They have two daughters and four grandchildren.

Osinski Auction Service will be honored at the Starke County Chamber of Commerce annual banquet on Jan. 16 at the Bass Lake Community Center. For tickets, call Chamber Executive Director Debbie Mix at 772-5548.
