Operation Round Up Scholarships Available

Operation Round Up is offering a total of six scholarships for high school seniors who are planning to continue their education at a college or university in 2014. Operation Round Up Scholarships are available for students whose parents or guardians are Kankakee Valley REMC members and have been participating in Operation Round up since Jan. 27, 2014, which is one month prior to when the applications are due.

Operation Round Up is offering two $1000 and four $500 scholarships. The applications must be completed and accompanied by a short essay, which is outlined in the scholarship application, along with up to three personal reference letters. Judges’ scoring relies 50 percent on the content of the essay, 25 percent on the community and school involvement, and 25 percent on academics and letters of recommendation.

For more information or to obtain an application, contact Amanda Steeb at KVREMC or visit your school counselor. You can also go online to kvremc.com. Applications are due in the KVREMC office by Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. CT.
