One person was flown from the scene of a two vehicle accident U.S. 31 and 7B Road in Marshall County Friday morning.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputies found that a passenger car was southbound on U.S. 31 approaching the intersection with 7B Road in the driving lane. A semi was also southbound but in the passing lane and for some unknown reason, the passenger car turned into the path of the semi. The semi struck the car on the driver’s side.
The driver of the passenger car was extricated from the vehicle and flown from the scene to South Bend Memorial Hospital. The semi driver was not injured.
Investigators believe that alcohol is not a factor in the accident and the investigation is ongoing. The names of those involved have not been released.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Indiana State Police, Plymouth Fire Department, EMS and MedFlight.
