LaPorte Police Investigate Counterfeit Currency

 
 
The LaPorte Police Department is investigating a case of counterfeit currency used at a local McDonald’s. According to the report, police responded to McDonald’s at 200 Boyd Blvd. on Friday, Jan. 24 to investigate the receipt of counterfeit money.

The store manager told police that earlier that day at 12:16 p.m. and again at 12:49 p.m., one of the drive-thru attendants had accepted a counterfeit $50 bill as payment for a food order. The fake bills were not discovered until later in the day.

The suspects are described as two black males traveling in a light green, 2005 Ford Windstar van. The case remains under investigation.
