Another hurdle has been cleared for the creation of a banquet hall and reception center in Pulaski County after the county commissioners last night voted to approve the advisory plan commission’s recommendation to rezone the Francesville property. The plan commission previously approved the request from the Saltzman family to rezone three parcels from agricultural to commercial use.

Gary and Sandra Saltzman were approved to have three parcels located at 8631 S. U.S. 421 in Francesville rezoned from A-1 to C-2 to allow them to open the banquet hall and reception center. Building Inspector Dave Dare said there are already buildings on the parcel that can be used for that purpose with only remodeling necessary.

A representative for the building inspector, David Webber, approached the county commissioners alongside Sandy Saltzman and explained the petitioners plan to open a bed and breakfast as a later project. Saltzman estimated the banquet hall to seat at least 100 to 150 people and she has high hopes to open the business before next spring.
