Marshall County Commissioners Table Clerk’s Purchase Request

A representative from the Marshall County clerk’s office presented a request to the commissioners to purchase office equipment.

Teri Stone, appearing on behalf of Clerk Julie Fox, asked the commissioners for a new computer and scanner for use by employees in the office. This would be in addition to the 22 computers in the office.

Stone explained that some computers aren’t in use all year round but are used by election board members in the months surrounding an election which puts the workers in the office in a bind if they don’t have those computers to use.

The request to transfer $1,590 from the perpetuation fund would need to be brought before the county council.

The commissioners tabled this request as the board members discussed the computer use within the department and believes this purchase can wait. The office is undergoing a remodeling project and new computers are part of that project.
